■川名哲紀 Tetsunori Kawana Message
2009年11月5日から10日まで草月いけ花展が日本橋高島屋で開催された。その展覧会に川名グループは合作で参加。グループ参加者は沖縄、熊本、兵庫、大阪、京都、長野、富山、石川、茨城、東京から総勢25名でタイトル”浸透”を制作した。和紙を福井で漉き、バラ、山ぶどう等で色水を作り、その色水が和紙に浸透して行く様を見せた。秒、分、時間で生み出される浸透差、その浸透差は人間がコントロールできるものではない自然現象、その偶然性を際立たせ、さらに時間の抱囲までをも作品の中に取り入れたのである。和紙にはススキ、つる梅を漉き込み意識的に屏風を連想させ、その上から生のつる梅、しだれ柳を掛けた。滲み上がってゆく紅色水は数分ことにその様を変え”妖艶”を見せつけた。そこに日本的なるものが現れたのである。
From November 5th to 10th, the annual Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition was held
at the Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store. The Kawana group participated
in this exhibition and group members came from Okinawa, Kumamoto, Hyogo,
Osaka, Kyoto, Nagano, Toyama, Ishikawa, Ibaragi, and
Tokyo, all together 25 people. We created an installation called “Penetration.”
We used special “washi” ordered from Fukui. From roses, mountain grapes
and other material, we created colored water. The colored water “penetrated”
the washi and so we showed people the process of penetration. The color
penetrated differently every second, minute, and hour. This process human
beings could not control. It is a process of Nature. I wanted to this
process of Nature to stand out for the viewers. As the penetration kept
changing, I was able to show Time at work. So my work showed both the
process of Penetration and of Time. When the paper was made, I asked the
makers to put in dried pampas grass and tsuruume (berries). Purposely
I was giving the viewers the impression of “byobu” (traditional Japanese
screens). Then from the top of the installation I added tsurume and weeping
willow. The changing pattern of the penetration gave an almost erotic
sense to the work. The total feeling was very Japanese.
